Men’s Open Olympia - what do the top 6 need to win?

    Posted: 11 Feb 2021 09:21 AM PST

To make my question a bit more specific, I'm wondering what you guys feel that the athletes placed 2-6 (and even including others like Roelly) would have needed to improve to go on and win the Olympia as opposed to Ramy.

I'm more curious for responses regarding glaring issues, since it's obvious "improving in every single area" can be applied to any category.

IMO Phil wasn't 100% in any body part, but the glaring issue was that his midsection was clearly not fixed. It's pushing out his obliques, and ruins a godlike physique.

Brandon looked fantastic but his legs and hams are way behind where they need to be. He has all the potential he needs and he can keep upping the level each year.

I think Hadi looked like a complete package, but maybe he could improve his chest size. Overall though, I don't think his frame allows him to easily compete with a titan like Ramy when Ramy is on point.

Bonac's structure let's him down - it's just super blocky. I'm impressed that he consistently finishes top-5 (new Dexter?) but I personally hate his structure and don't like him in the top 6. Change his bones maybe?

With Akim, I personally felt he blew Bonac out of the water on both size and aesthetics, so he might've been robbed a bit. I think if Akim improves his conditioning a little and brings up the lower half (low back included) I genuinely think he's a threat for the title.

    What are your thoughts?
