    Beginner Fitness: Beginner strength training

    Beginner strength training

I have some 5 lb dumbbells, 8 and 10 lb kettlebells, and a bowflex. I know the bowflex is my best option, but I'm not quite ready to dive into that. I'm looking for some beginner strength training videos that you guys have found to be good. I've been using HasFit on YouTube, but I'm looking for some others too.

All exercises every day vs. spliting up workout

    Posted: 21 May 2021 01:36 AM PDT

I have a set of exercises i want to do, including "all" body parts and i will train every third day.

Based on my mindset, i prefer to do each exercise once or twice every training day, but I know that many workouts rather split up the execises based on the body parts (e.g. leg / chest day) and focus on exercises for the specific part per day.

Does this increase the training effectiveness or wouldn't there be a significant difference (assuming the same training time per body part in the long term) ?

Edit: Example for better description of my question:

Lets say i have 6 exercises, two for legs, chest and arms each. So the schedules would be:

Monday, Thursday and Sunday: All 6 once

    or

Monday: 3x both leg exercises Thursday: 3x both chest exercises Sunday: 3x both arm exercises

Now to my question: Is the second option more effective or why are most workouts planned like this?

Very unsure where to start, could use some advice!

Hi guys, long story short I'm a 5 ft 7 25 y/o male looking to gain a little muscle. Over the last year I've been struggling with depression and lost a lot of weight (got down to 125 or so) and have finally worked up to a decent weight around 145/150. I'm really wanting to add some muscle/definition and tone my belly a bit while getting in shape overall. I'm not super out of shape, I can easily tolerate a short jog or so with no issue but it's not great lol. My diet isn't great mainly because I have no idea what to eat really, my appetite is very miniscule and want to maximize the few times a day I do eat. I get most of my calories from nutrition shakes/milk/home made protein high calorie shakes. I'm looking for some workout to start out with along with maybe a few diet tips! I have access to dumbbells at home as well. Thank you for any suggestions.
