As the 2020 Olympia rolls around, I'd like to offer a friendly reminder: stop fucking armchair coaching

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 12:41 PM PST

Comments like "all Roelly and Ramy need to do is come in 20 pounds less and more shredded!" or, "if only Cedric and Lionel Beyeke weren't lazy then they'd be the best" are useless. Stop saying this toxic shit. You think they don't know that they need to be lean? For the Mr. Olympia??

There's a million reasons why someone isn't conditioned on the big day but somehow the bodybuilding community thinks it's one of two things: "they played the size game" or "they're lazy." Yeah, go ahead and ignore drug regimen, meal timing, insurmountable genetic differences or whatever million fucking health issues could arise in the twenty four hours. Bodybuilding is so about minutia that even a little bit of anxiety could make you drop five placings in the O. But somehow you, the spectator, know exactly what an upper crust IFBB pro you've never met needs to do to win.

Critiquing lagging body parts, pointing out structural differences, and comparing conditioning is all useful. This is what the judges do and it's what the competitors need to hear. Oftentimes they'll go up to the judging panel to hear what they need to hear after the show. Telling them what to do to get there is just noise. They pay a coach and dedicate their lives to this thing for a reason so they don't need you piling on top of that. This sub is toxic go fuck yourself

How should the side tri be judged?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2020 08:19 PM PST

The side tri seems to be to be the most controversial pose. There is one group of people who believe that the lateral head of the tricep is the end all and be all. On the other hand, others like to use the silhouette and overall flow of the pose as the number one factor. Examples of these two camps include Phil vs Shawn.

Bodybuilding has been declining in popularity. Do you think bodybuilding will make a resurgence? If so why? How may it be different in the future?

A 100% Big Ramy is unbeatable and if he brings this level of conditioning to the Mr. Olympia it's game over.
