    Posted: 06 Oct 2020 03:04 AM PDT

Welcome to the /r/Fitness Daily Simple Questions Thread - Our daily thread to ask about all things fitness. Post your questions here related to your diet and nutrition or your training routine and exercises. Anyone can post a question and the community as a whole is invited and encouraged to provide an answer.

As always, be sure to read the wiki first. Like, all of it.

Also, there's a handy-dandy search bar to your right, and if you didn't know, you can also use Google to search fittit by using the limiter "site:reddit.com/r/fitness" after your search topic.

Other good resources to search are Exrx.net for exercise-related topics and Examine.com for nutrition and supplement science.

Be aware that the more relevant information you add, the more relevant the answers you receive will be. And if you are posting about your routine, please make sure you follow the guidelines.

(Please note: This is not a place for general small talk or chit-chat. Also, the community decided long ago that we keep jokes, trolling, and memes outside of the Daily Q&A threads. Please use the downvote / report button when necessary.)

Putting together a travel exercise kit, any ideas as to what it should include?

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 05:19 PM PDT

I'm about to head off and do a service year with AmeriCorps NCCC. I'll spend about 10 months traveling and working, without ever really spending more then a few weeks at a time in the same place. I'll effectively be living out a duffel and sharing my space with 9 other people.

However, I want to stay as active as I can, so I'm putting together a sorta travel workout bag. I've already got a jump rope for cardio, and a few resistance bands to try and build physical muscle. My question is, has anyone else tried to put together a full fitness system out of a bag before? How did it work out? What should I bring, what should I avoid bringing?

Edit: a lot of people are recommending TRX, and a lot of people are recommending gymnastics rings. They seem like very similar things, so which should I get? Is there a lot I can do with one which I can't do with the other?
