Rule #0 still applies in this thread. Also, there's a handy search function to your right, and if you didn't know, you can also use Google to search r/Fitness by using the limiter "site:reddit.com/r/fitness" after your search topic. Other good resources to check first are Exrx.net for exercise-related topics and Examine.com for nutrition and supplement science. If you are posting a routine critique request, make sure you follow the guidelines for including enough detail. (Please note: This is not a place for general small talk, chit-chat, jokes, memes, "Dear Diary" type comments, shitposting, or non-fitness questions. It is for fitness questions only, and only those that are serious.) [link] [comments] |
Dave Tate gives advice to a beginner who hasn't made progress in 18 Months Posted: 10 Mar 2021 08:29 AM PST I edited Dave's talk a bit to make the message a bit clearer.
If you feel you're stuck at a plateau but you know you want to keep going and succeed, hopefully this will give you some guidance on what your mentality should be in regards to overcoming those hurdles. If an approach isn't working, change it up. If you have a weak point, dedicate the time to bring up that weak point. Set long-term goals in your mind and micro-goals you can hit along the way. If you're not hitting those micro-goals, learn from the people who have "made it" in regards to how they continued progressing. If you feel like you're not making progress, but the process of continually finding ways to progress past plateaus, injuries, and any type of obstacles seems like way too much effort to be worth it, be honest with yourself and find another hobby that you enjoy. Just workout enough to maintain your health or to whatever other degree makes you happy. [link] [comments] |
Any idea how to get my delts back? Posted: 11 Mar 2021 05:26 AM PST I'm not really a gym goer, but I've always had a good natural physique - slim and toned abs, wide chest and broad shoulders with capped delts. I always assumed those delts were natural because I've never not had them until now. For the last few years, I stopped being active almost totally due to dealing with an unexpected major depression. Naturally, my physique started to lose some of its shape and tone, which only added to my drop in self esteem. Even when I tried to counter it by exercising again, I'd just as soon lose that motivation and relapse into doing nothing with myself. In time, my delts started to disappear along with my abs. I'm reasonably confident I can get the has back with work again, but I'm worried more about the loss of my delts. I'm not even sure why I had them for so long, or how. Things that I think may have contributed is that I'm a drummer, I also ride bicycles a lot. But beyond that I can't think of how I had delts like that as I wasn't really doing any shoulder exercises that I'm aware of. How could I could bulk up my delts again naturally? [link] [comments] |
