Why can i do a decent amount of pushups but only bench press about two thirds of my bodyweight?

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 01:25 PM PST

I weigh 76 kg (a bit more than 165 lbs i think) and i am about 5'11 and i can do 20-25 pushups rather clean with pretty good form (i had my athletic friend form-checking me) but yet i can only bench 50 kg. I tried 55 kg but it felt so weird i just could not lift it up. I am otherwise pretty "ok" athletically. I can do a couple of pull ups and use 14 kg dumbbells 3x12.

I have gone to the gym for about 3 months now and i rep 61 kg on the Chest press 3x12 and my other friends can Basically one rep Max chest press what they can one rep Max bench press. I one rep Max 50 kg on the bench while my friend does 90 (he says he thinks he can 95 or more) while i one rep Max 70,5 kg on the Chest press and he one rep Max 96 kg.

I had my friend form checking me on the bench and i had the best form possible he said. But the one problem was that i was "shaking".

My theory is that i just have horrible balance in my front deltoids. Is this possible that it can affect my one rep max that much? What can i do to fix this? I have gone to the gym for three months now and i visually have had a lot of gains and a lot of gains in my strength with the exercises i have done (8/10 kg bicep curls for reps to now 14 kg for reps and 40 kg for reps on chest press to 61 kg for reps).

What can i do to fix this? I am 76 kg and i would say i have started to look a bit muscular (i was like 63 kg 8 months ago and i still have sort of visible abdominal muscles. Not as much as before at all but they are still there).

Is it just my balance? What can i do to increase my bench?

    Home PULL Routine (Dumbbells/Bands)

    Posted: 22 Feb 2021 05:28 AM PST

The Push / Pull / Legs Split workout is one of the most commonly suggested styles. Today - we hit a home PULL routine using bands or dumbbells.

Follow Along With Bands or Dumbbells

We've done push. Today we pull. Up next is legs.

A home pull routine can be tough without a pull up bar, lat pull down machine, or cables. Fortunately we can still hammer the back, biceps, and shoulders.

We'll do so with these exercises:

    • Standard Curl

    • Bent Over Row

    • Cross Body Hammer Curl

    • Bent Over LOW Row

    • Circular Curl

    • Shrug and Hold

With these curl variants we'll be nailing both the short and long heads of the biceps. With both styles of rows, we'll be crushing the upper and lower lats.

There's two rounds. Each exercise set will be 16 reps total to land us in that perfect balance between tone, definition, and growth.

Anything in specific you want to target in the future? We'd love to build you a workout. Share it with us!

    Beginner Friendly Dumbbell Workout

    Posted: 21 Feb 2021 10:13 PM PST

Hello! I want to share with you this dumbbell workout that you can do at home or at the gym. This workout will help you sculpt your arms, chest, shoulders, and upper back. If you don't have any dumbbells (I know that it's difficult to find dumbbells in some cities) you can use water bottles filled with water or sand.
