Help, I can't tell what i'm doing wrong.

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 01:12 PM PDT

So just as a background to this, I had a bad crash on a longboard 5 years ago and dealt with my bad shoulder for 4 years straight before I gave up and went to the doctor. Long story short I had blown out the back of my labrum, and the tendons that were supposed to be holding my shoulder in the socket were stretched out, loose, and rolling. Had to get a reconstructive surgery that had me on my butt for 3 months in a sling, and then spent 6 months doing physical therapy. I've been doing light workouts ever since and a tiny amount of rock climbing. Finally felt that my shoulder was strong enough that I could start working on my deltoids and back and oh my god I did not realize how atrophied and weak those muscles were, but after doing only 10 reps of delt raises and t raises with 10 pound weights in each hand, my entire back has seized up and is extremely tight. I can do single arm dumbell rows 30 pounds 15 reps no sweat, and the rest of what I do with the free weights don't bother me at all.

So the question i'm asking is, was my form off and I pinched something? Are my muscles so weak that I have to take it easier than the 10 pounds, and if so, any alternative suggestions? Or is it possible this has to do with my injury/surgery and I should go see my doctor.

I'm extremely new to fitness in general, and i'm trying to learn all the proper terms and what not so I apologize if I got something wrong. Thanks in advance.

    protein powder recs?

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 05:58 PM PDT

my ultimate goal with my fitness journey is health. i want to primarily focus on toning, but a lot of cardio will be a part of my workout. i'm working out my diet, but during a target trip today i randomly picked up cellucor whey complete performance protein powder. looks like its an all in one powder designed for pre-, post-, and all day recovery for workouts and has 30g of protein. do you guys recommend this powder to incorporate in my daily routine? or is there possibly a better one thats also not too pricey (i spent about 30$ on it i think, but i'd like to stay under 50$ if its something i should really invest in)? does anyone find that the protein powders are really helpful with how they feel on the daily?

    Bulking (6000 calories)

    Posted: 28 Aug 2020 04:02 AM PDT

I'm currently doing a bulking diet and I decided to calculate how many calories I'm eating a day. My goal is to reach 80KGs and I downloaded myfitnesspal to help me with that. Putted my info down and it said that to reach that I'd have to consume 3090 calories a day. I calculate how much I ate today and got around 6000 calories and I found that absurdly high because I never felt like throwing up during the day or anything (even though I had 1kg of rice + chicken breast for dinner) and according to the graph my dinner was like... 55% of my calories throughout the day. Is that healthy if my goal is to gain weight, not worrying about being lean? (im an ectomorph. 171cm 63.5kgs, training for 6 months)
