    I've set 4k as my minimum goal for this week, allowance for one rest day if I need to, but no penalty for doing extra. Working up over the course of a few weeks towards 10k, hopefully. Feeling pretty good about today.

    I’m a complete beginner to weightlifting. Where do I start?

    So for some context: I'm 19 yrs old, 5'9", 144 lbs. I'm what you call "skinny fat." I'm trying to get a much more toned body and lose the excess fat. I have a lot of fat on my love handles especially. From what I've read online, I need to hit the weights hard. But I'm not sure where to start. I'm thinking I should do 5 sets of 8 reps for benchpress, squat, and deadlift. I will have to start with an empty barbell I think, since I'm a beginner, and move on from there. What do u guys recommend? I would appreciate the help, I'm really trying to improve my body, it's just hard to do when I'm a clueless newbie. Thank you.
