Welcome to the /r/Fitness Daily Simple Questions Thread - Our daily thread to ask about all things fitness. Post your questions here related to your diet and nutrition or your training routine and exercises. Anyone can post a question and the community as a whole is invited and encouraged to provide an answer.

Also, there's a handy search function to your right, and if you didn't know, you can also use Google to search r/Fitness by using the limiter "site:reddit.com/r/fitness" after your search topic.

Other good resources to check first are Exrx.net for exercise-related topics and Examine.com for nutrition and supplement science.

If you are posting a routine critique request, make sure you follow the guidelines for including enough detail.

(Please note: This is not a place for general small talk, chit-chat, jokes, memes, "Dear Diary" type comments, shitposting, or non-fitness questions. It is for fitness questions only, and only those that are serious.)

How do you handle gym days + a sport?

    Posted: 09 Jan 2021 09:35 PM PST

Two days ago I had my typical gym day, squat/bench/barbel row. Yesterday I had a 90 minute intense cross country ski session, my entire body was burning. And today I'm supposed to to the gym again, but it feels a bit too intense. Am I wrong to go again today? I tend to rest 1 day a week only, and exercise 6 days a week. I guess I'm not gonna break any PRs like this, or put on much weight?

How can I get about my day after legs?

    Posted: 10 Jan 2021 04:18 AM PST

I'm new to consistently working out and I've noticed that after I train legs it's more difficult to go about my day. I'm not overexerting myself to the point where I can't stand but long term leg movement just hurts. I dislike stairs even more now. Is there anything I can do post-exercise to ease my legs into functioning normally

How do I deal with tightness at the back of my neck.

    Posted: 09 Jan 2021 10:17 PM PST

I've tried all of the stretches I've seen online. They do help but I'm looking to see if there is anything better, or a specific one I should focus on.

I've also tried trigger points with a back buddy. While that works on my traps, it just seems to aggravate my neck.

I know most of this is coming from poor posture and I'm taking steps to address that. But in the meantime I want to know if there's anything I can do to loosen my neck.

I'd appreciate any advice you have!
