Weighted ab exercises vs hanging ab exercises? Posted: 03 Nov 2020 04:18 AM PST Can I get a 6 pack doing only weighted ab exercises? I could do hanging exercises but they'd be a pain the ass to do because of different technical reasons (I don't have difficulty doing the exercises themselves it's just the preparation I have to do before hence technical reasons) Question is are they worth the bother or am I going to get the same results doing exercises with dumbbells? When to move on from Planet Fitness Posted: 03 Nov 2020 04:35 AM PST I am a beginner when it comes to working out, and I'm looking for a gym in my town. There are two that are open when I'd be able to go in - one is Planet Fitness, and I forget the name of the other but: Planet Fitness averages $15.67 per month for the first year. The other gym averages $36.50 per month for the first year. I can afford the more expensive gym, but I'm not sure I want to start paying that much when I'm just starting working out. I've read a ton of posts about choosing a gym and planet fitness in particular. Consensus seems to be either "don't go there at all" or "it's a good starter gym, but move on eventually." So my question is: if I decide to use PF as a starter gym, how will I be able to tell when it's time to move on? Is there a certain weight on a certain machine that would tell me "ok you can move on now"? Should I just move on after three months of consistent training? Or should I not even bother with PF at all? Like I said, I can technically afford the other gym, which has more "standard" gym equipment from what I understand. So am I screwing myself over by not choosing that gym from the start? Or am I overthinking all of this? [link] [comments] |
