Daily Simple Questions Thread - November 10, 2020

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 02:04 AM PST

Welcome to the /r/Fitness Daily Simple Questions Thread - Our daily thread to ask about all things fitness. Post your questions here related to your diet and nutrition or your training routine and exercises. Anyone can post a question and the community as a whole is invited and encouraged to provide an answer.

As always, be sure to read the wiki first. Like, all of it.

Also, there's a handy-dandy search bar to your right, and if you didn't know, you can also use Google to search fittit by using the limiter "site:reddit.com/r/fitness" after your search topic.

Other good resources to search are Exrx.net for exercise-related topics and Examine.com for nutrition and supplement science.

Be aware that the more relevant information you add, the more relevant the answers you receive will be. And if you are posting about your routine, please make sure you follow the guidelines.

(Please note: This is not a place for general small talk or chit-chat. Also, the community decided long ago that we keep jokes, trolling, and memes outside of the Daily Q&A threads. Please use the downvote / report button when necessary.)

Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 06:12 AM PST

Get your dunce hats out, Fittit, it's time for your weekly Stupid Questions Thread.

Post your question - stupid or otherwise - here to get an answer. Anyone can post a question and the community as a whole is invited and encouraged to provide an answer. Many questions get submitted late each week that don't get a lot of action, so if your question didn't get answered before, feel free to post it again.

As always, be sure to read the FAQ first.

Also, there's a handy-dandy search bar to your right, and if you didn't know, you can also use Google to search fittit by using the limiter "site:reddit.com/r/fitness".

Be sure to check back often as questions get posted throughout the day. Lastly, it may be a good idea to sort comments by "new" to be sure the newer questions get some love as well. Click here to sort by new in this thread only.

So, what's rattling around in your brain this week, Fittit?

As per this thread, the community has asked that we keep jokes, trolling, and memes outside of the Moronic Monday thread. Please use the downvote / report button when necessary.

How do i get my buddy to start lifting?

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 04:16 AM PST

I've been hitting the gym for a bit now, and I'm very satisfied with this lifestyle. My friend who is a bit younger than me has never been to the gym. I asked him about going to the gym with me but he said he's scared to go. He said he feels insecure that he's gonna get a lot of looks from people at the gym, even though i told him nobody really cares what you're doing there. I even tried giving him the "everyone starts somewhere" talk but i dont think he got it. Im not trying to pressure him into going, but I want to help him get over the fact that nobody's gonna judge him for working out. Should I just leave him be?
