Looking to improve my core - reccomendations for apps, programmes etc Posted: 29 Nov 2020 06:07 AM PST Hi everyone, I'm looking for reccomendations for a programme or app to follow that specifically targets my core and stability. I started running a while back to loose weight, but I'm very aware that my core is quite weak and I have a big hiking challenge coming up. I do yoga once or twice a week but am looking to find something a bit more 'active', ideally a plan or app I can follow to see progress. Most home work out programmes seem to include some core work but generally as part of building muscle. I'm happy to pay a bit for a subscription as generally that helps me stick to it! [Advice] Trying to get started Posted: 29 Nov 2020 12:56 PM PST Hi folks, I've kind of passed through the "useless piece of $%^!" part of being in lock down and actually want to make steps towards being a better person over all. To that end, fun as being fat was, I think I am over that now. I am a 100% fitness newbie and I have tried doping my own research and keep getting conflicting answers. Additionally I have a number of special items I need to address to get started. I want to get started forming better habits and I function a lot better when I have a set routine. I am morbidly obese. I was 445 lbs. when I started eating healthier, I am down to 404 lbs. via diet and caloric restriction alone. To that end I would like to start a light work out each morning, however there are some caveats. This is what I have worked out so far (ALL of this is fair game, flexible): > It needs to be fairly low impact: younger days spent in lots of high impact activities (football, wrestling, etc.) with no regards to my joint health and a chunk of my life being spent at an unhealthy weight heave reduce my lower back, knees, ankles, and hips to gravel. Hyperbolic, but high impact exercises cripple me. > I plan to work out 3 days a week > I want to incorporate something for flexibility. I'm pushing up on 40 and my joints will only get > Exercising at a gym is off the table while the pandemic is a thing; weight aside I have underlying conditions that means if I get Covid it's likely game over. > Due to financial (and space) restrictions I have to use the equipment I have on hand. I picked up a set of adjustable dumbbells that were surprisingly cheap (they can be adjusted from 5 lbs. to 52.5 lbs. in 2.5 lb. increments) and a 12 lb. kettlebell. I also have a set of those rubber resistance bands. I picked up a little baby bench for free but the pin that keeps the adjustable part in place is missing so I'll have to find a way to address that before I can use it. TL;DR: 400+ pound ball of dough tired of feeling like garbage every day and is now making steps to be better. Zero experience with fitness and currently has some restrictions (as listed above). Seeking advice just to get me started. Lay it on me, here or in DM. Thank you for your time. [link] [comments] |
Looking for a female virtual fitness buddy Posted: 29 Nov 2020 11:21 AM PST Hi, 20F here looking for someone to keep me accountable with exercise. I'm not obese by any means, but Ihave a roll on my lower stomach that I'm really insecure about. My cardiovascular fitness and strength also need a lot of work. The biggest reason for me to get started has to do with my recent medical acceptance. I can't tell my future patients to exercise and eat better if I don't do that myself. It's about time I start forming healthier habits. Please PM me if you're interested. Tysm! [link] [comments] |
