Discussion: How much do good looks influence top bodybuilders' careers? Posted: 24 Apr 2020 06:24 PM PDT I've been thinking about this for a while, but I feel like one of the most undervalued aspects to many guys is simply how their faces look. I've seen posts about how unaesthetic some guys' physiques are, but what I see a lot of the time is an ugly head or really puffy face, etc. And if their face was suddenly good looking, I'm quite sure the reaction would be instead, at the least, like "Holy shit, he's looking freaky!" A good example of this was a post of Awodibu a while back where people said he looked really blocky and unaesthetic (and much meaner things), and while there's certainly truth to that, imagine replacing his face/head shape with something different: https://www.instagram.com/blessing_awodibu/?hl=en I'm personally surprised we don't see more guys getting plastic surgery, to be quite honest. To remove water retention in the face or just touch ups, etc. What do you guys think? A lot of the very top bodybuilders have great facial symmetry as well. Guys like Arnold, Jay, Phil not only had great bodies but are very good looking. And while, say, Dorian Yates might not be considered as good looking, he has a very classic, Romanesque profile. I know that in other divisions, facial appearance is taken even more into consideration. But, what do you think open bodybuilders should be judged on: just their bodies, or do you think their whole look should be judged? If you'd taken Lou Ferrigno and Arnold and swapped their heads, would history have played out differently? [link] [comments] | ||
